Hello! I’m Miroslav Vadkerti, known as thrix online. I’m a Sr Principal Software Engineer at Red Hat, where I lead the Testing Farm team. Our work focuses on building CI testing infrastructure for RHEL, Fedora, and CentOS Stream – making it easier for developers and maintainers to test their packages and changes across these distributions.

Some of the upstream projects I contribute to:

  • tmt – Test Management Tool, a framework for defining and running tests
  • Testing Farm CLI – command-line interface for the Testing Farm service
  • Artemis – provisioning backend for testing infrastructure

Outside of work, I’m a Linux desktop enthusiast running Fedora Silverblue with a custom BlueBuild image, and I occasionally tinker with Nix. I also maintain nix-toolbox – a Fedora toolbox integration with Nix.

Why a blog?

I often run into problems that take time to solve. Once I find a solution, it lives in my head or in scattered notes. A blog is a better home for these solutions – both for my future self and for anyone else who runs into the same issues.

What to expect

Posts here will mostly be about:

  • Linux desktop – Fedora, Silverblue/BlueBuild, and the desktop Linux experience
  • Testing and CI – testing infrastructure, automation, and developer tooling
  • Open source – tools, workflows, and contributions
  • Technology – anything interesting I stumble across
